Electronic Secretariat

The platform students.duth.gr aims to provide direct service to students, giving them online access to various Secretariat services.
It is a service specifically designed for student support and interaction with their Department’s secretariat via the web.
The features offered to students through the electronic Secretariat service students.duth.gr are:

  • view their courses and grades
  • submit their course registration online
  • submit online requests for certificates, graduation clearance, and participation in graduation ceremonies.

The service is constantly updated, with new features being added for the sole purpose of providing better service to the students of D.U.T.H.

Microsoft Office 365 Education

The Office 365 program is a dynamic program where various services are continuously added or removed to be utilized by Academic Communities. Indicatively, the following are offered:

Free Software

Distribution and access to free software for members of the D.U.T.H. academic community for educational use.

Digital Signature

Every member of the D.U.T.H. academic community can obtain a Class B digital certificate. Class B certificates can be stored on any media, such as locally on a computer or on a USB flash drive, can be copied to other media, and are used for services such as digitally signing email messages. Please note that certificates of this category are not recommended for digitally signing documents, as they are not considered valid certificates for this use.

Academic ID

The academic ID is necessary for student identification whenever required (transactions with the secretariat, student transit discounts, etc.). The academic ID is issued through the relevant website

Asynchronous E-learning

The teaching of each course is supported by the eClass asynchronous e-learning platform, which enables two-way communication between students and instructors, exchange of course materials and information, conducting tests/midterms, and more. Textbook Acquisition – Eudoxus

A service for the direct and comprehensive provision of textbooks to undergraduate university students. To select your textbooks, visit the website https://eudoxus.gr/ and click on the textbook declaration button. Then, select Democritus University of Thrace from the list of institutions and follow the procedure by logging in with your institutional account credentials.

Email

Communication between students and the services of the Department and the University, and vice versa, takes place via email. All students are provided with an email address accessible through the “WebMail” service.

Access to Electronic Databases – Access Rights and Obligations

D.U.T.H. is a subscriber to electronic databases, either through direct agreements or through agreements of the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL-Link) with the publishers/vendors. The right of full access to these electronic databases is granted to any user who is considered a member of the D.U.T.H. academic community (teaching, research, administrative staff, students, etc.), strictly for educational, teaching, or research purposes. Full access to electronic databases is only possible via:
– the physical network (i.e., network outlet)
– the wireless network (Wi-Fi)
– the Virtual Private Network (VPN) of D.U.T.H.
Connections via either Wi-Fi or VPN are considered parts of the D.U.T.H. network due to user authentication during connection (using a username and password, which are strictly personal and common to all web services provided to them, i.e., Wi-Fi, VPN, and other personal services).
